Do your practice and all is coming.
Sri K. Pattabhi Jois
I had my first encounter with the physical aspect of Yoga during dance training in high school. I actually did not enjoy it. While pursuing a BFA in dance making, I was encouraged by friend and teacher Blanca Aviles to attend her class at Moksha Yoga. Skeptical, I joined. I certainly thought I was fit and flexible as a dancer. The style taught was different from the classes I took in high school. IT WAS HARD. Mentally and emotionally. Around 2003 and still skeptical, I began my Yoga practice with intention and came to realize the extent of what ‘doing yoga’ means. In 2008, I was 200 hour certified in a year long intensive program at Moksha Yoga. I have studied with and been inspired by international teachers Shiva Rea, Tias Little, Jason Nemer, and Kino MacGregor to name a few. Other teachers that feed my practice regularly include Rich Logan, Blanca Aviles, Alexia Bauer, Laura Henke and Rich Gonshak. I also carry with me the kinesthetic knowledge of dance and acrobatics study. With such a varied movement background and keen eye for the human body, I am able to lead students in an energetically and physically appropriate class with options for all mind-bodies. I truly believe that we are all capable of more than we think we are.
