To watch us dance is to hear our hearts    speak.

Hopi Indian Teachings

A choreographer, performer and teacher, I received my BFA in dancemaking with honors from Columbia College Chicago in 2006.  I have performed professionally and taught for Hurley and Dancers, Dance CoMotion, Luna Negra Dance Theater, Old Town School of Folk Music, Swing for Kids, have been a guest teacher and choreographer at Iowa State University, as well as setting and performing work independently.

My varied movement background draws from contact improv, ballet, acrobatics, hip hop, modern, cabaret, jazz, latin social dance forms, performance art practices, circus based forms and physical theater, making me a unique teacher and performer. I not only like the physical act of dancing, I enjoy the kinesthetic education of embodying the sociocultural environment of a dance form. Dance is a non verbal form of communication that is powerful and important.

I am currently on staff at Chicago Academy of Burlesque, where I lead students thru body ownership as empowerment and techniques for grounding on and off stage.

Contact thisyogidances@gmail.com for special event, group, private and corporate dance, dance fitness classes, special events, and coaching.  I am also taking commissioned artwork at this time.
